Track listing & notes from Buzz

). HEY NOW – If it is possible for a break up to be taken lightly and with a tongue-in-cheek attitude, this may be it.

). AIN’T NOBODY – The blues influence has to surface. The guy in this song has problems but is surviving.

). YOU BABY – Placing one’s love over that of a movie star. Dedicated to home theater owners everywhere or just those with a DVD player and a bag of popcorn.

). GET OUT OF TOWN – Hopefully this song will come to mind when you absolutely must get away for the weekend to your favorite spot!

). HOOKED UP WITH THE MAN – In a time of widespread desperation, a continual ray of Hope.

). SOMEBODY TOLD ME – If you’ve ever been in this situation or ever thought about contacting an old friend, hopefully you will relate to this one.

). WONDERING – Did you ever wonder if that someone in your past is wondering too?

). BARBEQUE – This song sounds so much better while chompin’ down on a big pulled pork sandwich from your favorite barbeque joint.

). TEXAS WILDFLOWER – Written while driving home from Larry Joe’s Texas Music Fest but instead of a Silverado, mine is a my beloved old GMC Gypsy with 110,000 miles on it.

). ODDLY ENOUGH – Love is kind, love is patient, and thank God, forgiving.

). I LOVE THE SOUTH – On a rainy spring morning, I look out the window down towards the barn nestled in my Tennessee-green haven. Many southern bred memories and feelings well up inside me as I realize how blessed I am to live in this lovely part of God’s creation.

). BLACK MAN IN MISSISSIPPI – A bellhop at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis who aspired to become an R & B star triggered this idea, allowing me to express my love for my black brothers and sisters.

). CAN’T GO ANYWHERE – Built around an acoustic lick which Joe and I tried to take to an intense level, this story of taking your love with you wherever you go was especially fun for me since my son, Taylor, sang on it with me.

). PLAYIN’ MUSIC – There’s just nothing like being out there on a stage, big or small, playing your songs for whoever will listen! I’m not sure it keeps you from aging, but it sure can make you feel young, (most of the time!).

). HATS OFF TO HANK – The white cowboy hat, the western suit, and above all those magical songs. He was country, blues and rock before it was called any of that. Thank you, man.
