On Thursday, February 15, at the famous Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, between Ryan James’ and Wade Bowen’s gigs, Dr. Gary Hartman (Director of the Center for Texas Music History at San Marcos University) presented Georges Carrier, the president of the Country Rendez-Vous Festival in France with a plaque gratefully acknowledging him and the festival for supporting Texas Musicians and for playing an important role in shaping Texas Music History. Vive la France et la Texas Music!

This year the Festival’s line-up will have eight Texas artists: Joe Ely, The Derailers, Tommy Alverson, Stoney LaRue, Roger Creager, Lucky Tomblin Band, Trent Willmon, and Jon Emery. For 2008, contacts have been made with The Texas Sapphires, Brandon Rhyder, Bonnie Bishop, Mike Blakely, Ryan James, Paul Eason, and Deryl Dodd.
